Ms. Colby has a Masters in Information from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture from Michigan State University.
She takes long walks in the woods, sings karaoke in front of total strangers, and enjoys the smell of freshly mown grass, new parchment, and spearmint toothpaste—but not necessarily all at the same time.
Her favorite book is whatever she is currently reading, but some of her best-loved novels are Family Life by Akhil Sharma, A Series of Unfortunate Events series by Lemony Snicket, and The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. Some favorite memoirs include The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, Travels with Charley: In Search of America by John Steinbeck, and Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris.
Ms. Colby is passionate about helping students to integrate technology tools into their daily lives to improve understanding, increase productivity, and share ideas with others—even though teenagers know how to do everything already.
